Synopsis : This book is a practical guide packed with clear examples that will help you get to grips with the best practices in Laravel design patterns to create advanced web applications. This book is intended for web application developers working with Laravel who want to increase the efficiency of their web applications. It assumes that you have some experience with the Laravel PHP framework and are familiar with coding OOP methods.
Review : Contains a very carefully worded concise explanation of Laravel and its Design principles. I like the book as a nice handy one in which I can quickly take a look at basic and advanced subjects of Laravel. At the first glance, it seems that the book covers just most important topics of Laravel. There are invaluable explanations about Laravel design patterns which are really helpful and eye-opener.
Laravel MVC pattern is clarified as well. It goes in details in most parts of a Model, from how to build raw queries, Eloquent ORM and its all capabilities to Model events, Migrations and database seeding.
If you’ve been developing in Laravel already then it may not be the book for you. But as stated in the preface of the book, it requires some knowledge of the Laravel Framework. So don’t expect a beginners manual for the Framework. So who is this book for ? If you know how to do some basics, but want to learn more, this book can give you a little more knowledge of what each component can do and a little on why it does it.
